A psychiatrist, son of Elvis Presley’s proctologist, divorces his wife and religion to find his authentic self, but discovers escaping his daddy issues is even more daunting.

Steve Wruble is making his acting debut here at the Cherry Lane Theatre in his personal and self-written solo show, Escape From Daddyland. Steve is an accomplished singer-songwriter and storyteller. He has won the Moth StorySLAM and performs standup comedy regularly in NYC and Berlin.
Steve is also co-author of the NYT best-selling book, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump - 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President. In this popular and ground-breaking book, Steve contributed a chapter called, “Trump’s Daddy Issues - A Toxic Mix for America.”
Steve is a double board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and has been in private practice for over 20 years in Manhattan and Ridgewood, New Jersey. He is known for employing alternative therapies that tap into his clients creativity in order to heal. Steve is presently the medical director of the Venn Center where he specializes in men’s psychological health and treating anxiety disorders and trauma. He started his psychiatric career as the Chief Fellow at the Institute for Juvenile Research in Chicago.
Steve grew up in a family of physicians in Memphis, Tennessee, and is most proud of his 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
